Local Clubs & Service Organizations
PostCard |
| COMMENTS: This is a postcard I recently sent to local clubs and service
organizations. I got the list from my Chamber of Commerce. It is a standard sized 4 1/4" high x 5
1/2" wide postcard. I printed them on my laser printer. The postcard material is a commercially
produced 8 1/2" x 11" sheet incorporating 4 postcards per sheet. It is scored for easy separation.
I only printed the one side and on the mailing face I used pre-printed labels I prepared with my
WordPerfect software. You can probably do the same thing with MS Word. Instead of going through the
bother of setting up a postcard format in WordPerfect I just used their label facility and created
the postcard by choosing one of the large label formats that was the same size as the postcard. It
worked great. I mailed these out and within a couple of days I noticed I started receiving posts
from some of them on my community calendar. I called each person who posted (phone numbers came
with the Chamber list) and thanked them for posting and encouraged them to help me spread the word.
I received a lot of great comments about the site and no negatives. Plus I may have gotten a couple
of clients for websites. At any rate, I'm sure I'll gain traffic from these folks. I feel the
couple of hours I spent preparing this mailing were very well spent. I did have a couple of
organizations whose main office was in another town, which incidentially has a different area code,
so in reflection I am adding the area code to my phone number just in case I want to mail it again
in the future. |
